- Specialist in geriatrics or nursing home physician
- Paediatrician

Please note: some health insurers also accept referrals from other professionals (from an optometrist or a sports doctor, for example). Would you like to know if you can use referrals from other professionals? Then please contact your health insurer.
If you don’t have a valid referral, your health insurer will not pay for your treatment. The Health Insurance Act requires you to have a valid referral.
Do you have a valid referral, but did you forget to bring it to your appointment? Then make sure that we receive the referral within seven working days after your appointment.
If we do not receive your referral within seven working days, we will send you a bill for the care you received. You will have to pay this bill yourself.
Have you been to our hospital before, but do you need treatment for a new problem? Then you need a new referral.
If you are still being treated for the same problem as before, you don’t need a new referral. This is the case if your doctor asked you to come back for a check-up, for example.
Has your treatment at our hospital ended? Then you will need a new referral from your GP for your next appointment.
For more information about referrals, please contact your health insurer.
