Before your stay

Your specialist organises your stay for you. You will get a letter that tells you when and where your appointment is. You go to the hospital once before your stay so that we can help you prepare.

Are you having an operation? Then you will have a ‘preoperative screening’ before your stay. During this screening, you will visit the nurse and the anaesthesiologist. There can also be blood tests, an ECG heart test or X-rays.

If you are admitted to hospital, you must bring:
- Your ID card, passport or driving licence.
- An official list of the medicines that you use at home (you can get this list from your pharmacy).
- The medicines that you use at home, in their original packaging.
- Instructions about your diet (if you have these).
- Toiletries (things like your toothbrush, toothpaste and soap).
- Pyjamas or a nightdress, dressing gown, underwear and slippers.
- Books, magazines, pen and paper.
Our staff serve breakfast, lunch and dinner every day.

Breakfast and lunch

For breakfast and lunch, you can choose from a long list of breads, toppings and drinks.
- Breakfast time: 7:15 - 8:15
- Lunch time: 11:45 - 12:30
Dinner

During the day, someone will come by with a dinner menu. You can choose a hot meal that is made with either meat, fish or vegetarian ingredients.
- Dinner time: 16:30 - 18:30
Special diets and food allergies

Are you on a diet or do you have a food allergy? Tell the nurse and the food staff about it. We will do our best to bring you the meal you want. The meal you want may not be available on the first day of your stay. You can have kosher meals from the first working day after you are admitted to the hospital.

Do you want very specific diet foods? Then please contact the Dietetics department (in Dutch) to talk about this before your stay. We will try to make sure that the food you need is ready for you.
